Expérience fantastique: A great learning experience! I spent two weeks in a small class (7-8 students) from all over the world learning French. Candy was our instructor and she created a warm, welcoming, relaxed and fun learning environment with lots of laughter. I felt comfortable speaking (I was nervous at first) and feel I improved. I learned a lot of new vocabulary and got some great pronunciation tips. I plan to return.

It's in an interesting central location, with welcoming staff, enthusiastic and skilled teachers along with fellow students who were supportive and keen to participate in classes. Bonus treats like croissants from time to time too! I liked that the classes had a wide range of participants from around the world and all ages. I have booked into other language schools in France over the years, and I rank this one highly. I look forward to continuing my 'apprentissage' there in 2026.

C'était une expérience formidable, car cela m'a permis d'entrer en contact avec la culture et la langue, et de me familiariser avec ce qui m'attendait à l'université. Aujourd'hui, près de quatre ans plus tard, je suis fière d'avoir obtenu mon diplôme après avoir suivi l'intégralité de mes études en français. Je suis convaincue que cette réussite est due aux bases que j'ai acquises auprès de l'équipe de Lutèce. C'est pourquoi, maintenant que ma mère vient me rendre visite, je ne peux imaginer d'autre école que Lutèce pour lui permettre d'apprendre la langue et de vivre la meilleure expérience possible.

Expérience négative: I don’t recommend. The lady in the front desk was very annoyed and rude because I wanted to change my schedule. The classes are boring and slow to keep you in a low level. Extremely expensive too.

Expérience négative: Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience with Lutece. After I paid the €350+ for a 15H intensive course last year, they said they did not have a slot for me (but needs to be completed within 2 months which did not fit my travelling schedule). When I went through an oral and written test and asked what level I was eligible for, they did not even answer my email. Calling also meant waiting for 15+ mins for a call back. It seems the fact that I already spent €350 for an unused course meant nothing for them and didn’t seem to care if an existing/potential customer had a bad experience. I’d recommend taking an immersive course with Sorbonne, Alliance Française, or one of the other language schools and avoiding Lutece.

Expérience fantastique: I took a three week course with Lutèce Langue in 2022 and I absolutely loved it. The teachers were extremely personable, and I found the instruction really helpful. I made so much progress just in those three weeks. The location is also fantastic and the neighborhood is great to walk around it, or you can easily take the metro when its too cold. I am planning on taking another course with them soon as a returning student, so I definitely recommend! :)

When moving to Paris they gave me a quickstart to help me, move around and communicate with a lot more ease and gave me confidence in my day to day life. Since then, I stayed in touch and visited quite a few courses, workshops and ~ my favorite ~ Paris Walks, spiced up with an insidersˋ view on some fewer known places of this amazing city, some authentic conversation and some poetry Their teachers are highly motivated, helpful and professional and helpful in finding the right fit for you, whether that would be communicating with more ease, giving an extra hand with your writing skills or a finishing touch to your pronunciation. Plus, as a resident or visitor, you can count on them for practical advice and hints to get the most out of your stay! Lastly, having visited other language schools as well, the small group classes are really one of their biggest plus. It’s quite rare to find this concept and, in my opinion, also a reason, why so many expatriates in Paris choose to study here. I can only highly recommend this school if you want to make sure your stay + study will be a successful one! ☀️ I am so very pleased to return now to this amazing place, after some years of living in France to, this time, refining my skills and knowledge of the beautiful french language. Expérience positive: Update: After learning at Lutèce for 2x for 4~6 month periods, I can say that it is a great option if you would like flexible classes with good quality teachers. However, the administration is not organized, I feel quite sorry for them as it seems they are still managing everything manually and have no automated schedulling system for students. So sometimes the administration do not respond to our emails or disregards our emails completely. With that being said, I really enjoyed my professors & classes, and pedagogical processes are well-structured! I would come back, but for now I think Lutèce served its purpose as I feel that I can survive daily life in french! old review from 2023: I have been learning at Lutèce Langue for about a month and I can say that I’ve really enjoyed my classes. I take the weekday evening class, which is usually less than 8 people. This schedule allows me to learn while doing an internship without sacrificing my weekends. My professor is very kind and attentive, she curates the classes to include equal progression of all the skills (listening, reading, writing, and speaking). I also appreciate that she finds ways where we can express ourselves with the level of french that we know (for example if i am trying to explain something with difficult grammar, she will suggest how to say it with simple grammar that I know).

Expérience fantastique: Update: I had the pleasure of being able to attend a writing workshop in-person in September of '24 and now I can say without reservation that the actual classroom experience was just as wonderful as I thought it would be back when I was taking the on-line course. Everything about the in-person experience was great: ease of scheduling and payment, clean/pleasant facilities and professional, friendly instruction. I was only able to fit one workshop in during a brief trip to Paris, but now I intend to make a week-long class the focus of a February 2026 trip; I can't wait! I highly recommend checking out Lutèce Langue's evening, on-line French classes. When all of the U.S. chapters of the Alliançe Française moved to an on-line format because of the pandemic, it made me think that I should see what is available in France. First, I took a one month course at L'Alliançe Française de Paris. The professor was fantastic but there were 12 students in the Zoom classroom and since the AF rigidly sticks to their somewhat staid pedagogy, the class moved a bit slowly. After AF, I tried Lutèce Langue and there is a lot to recommend; the classes are small and the teaching style is very dynamic with an emphasis on conversation. The professor I had throughout the summer, Yannick Oliviéro, was super-skilled at keeping a vibrant conversation going while also gently and unobstrusively correcting the speaker's grammar, usage and prononciation. The class ran for 1.5 hours (twice/week) and the time flew by--she really knows how to engage her students in such a way that made it feel like a fun, interesting conversation among friends. The grammar exercises that were sent before the class were really good and I appreciated that class time was not spent plodding through the answers, one-by-one; rather, Professor Oliviéro gets her students to actully employ the grammar in conversation. From time-to-time the homework involved short writing assigments that we would correct in class. That was helpful because she could highlight verb tenses and moods and explain the rationales for their use, for example. Lastly, the administration was very friendly and easy to work with and I like that you can sign up for as few as two weeks at a time. I hope that I can study there in person someday--if they can make the on-line experience that good, it must really be wonderful to be in their actual classrooms!

She starts off the class asking us how our day/weekend was, and lets us conversate with each other as we ask follow-up questions to each of the classmates...doesn't stop us to start the lesson. I learned much faster the more I was able to speak and it gave me so much more confidence.

Christine was my teacher, and she was so helpful and patient. I learned so much French grammar and usage from her, but she also helped me gain a lot of confidence in my speaking abilities. I loved the afternoon workshops as well, they were really interactive. I liked the opportunity to meet students from higher level classes and to practice French outside of the classroom. I've attended other languages schools in Paris since (due to timing and where in the city I had to be located), and Lutece Langue is by far the best! I'm looking to study French in Paris again and will definitely be back at Lutece.

Expérience fantastique: I have taken French courses at Lutece Langue several times and always return when I visit Paris for a week or more. The teachers are all excellent , and the structure of the classes work ideally for me as they focus on communication skills.

Expérience fantastique: I've attended three different French schools in the last 8 years and Lutèce is my favorite. The classes are small, no more than 9 students, and the courses are organized in a way that really enhances learning. Instead of moving on from topic to topic, they spend time making sure that the subject of the week is well understood by multiple practices, speaking, reading, and writing. The courses are fun too, all sorts of games to fit in with our curriculum, and the instructors that I had were incredible. I had Maryse for two weeks and she is so charming and smart and entertaining that I looked forward to my class every morning. She also has a wide breadth of knowledge regarding all things French, language, history, the arts, so that was a great gift to all of us. She had a wonderful way of explaining (odd) concepts of French grammar and prononciation and vocabulary that kept of laughing while we learned. Lutèce also offers all sorts of additional workshops that you can tack on to your regular course, highlighting specific things like conversation and grammar, and even an afternoon walking through the streets of Paris, learning about different neighborhoods, Parisian history, architecture. I regret I only took advantage of this one time because I had the best afternoon visiting various Covered Passages with Kandy and about 4 other students. Kandy was just so fun to be around! So enthusiastic, funny, knowledgeable, and so engaging that she even got people on the metro to participate in game of charades with us! Then we finished our field trip by stopping by a little café and having a cup of delicious hot chocolate! Lutèce just offers so much, so many opportunities to engage in French, I loved the flexibility. There is also an intensive course that includes workshops and also one-on-one tutoring. It has a great location too, in the 7th arrondissement which is just a fantastic neighborhood, near the Musée d'Orsay, just a super fun location. My two weeks at Lutèce were so amazing, I highly recommend it to anyone interested in studying French in Paris. I usually just come once a year for two weeks, but my experience was so positive I'm actually coming back again later this year!

Expérience fantastique: I have enrolled in classes at Lutece Langue on two different occasions — once for 2 weeks, once for 4 weeks — when visiting Paris and it is a remarkable school. Both the teaching and administrative staff have been wonderfully supportive — and even improved on my second visit in April 2025. Classes are precisely what I needed and wanted — instructive, convivial, engaging and rewarding. The diverse backgrounds of the students (age, country of origin, life experience, etc.) make for a dynamic experience. Loved it all!

Mich hat besonders gefreut, dass die Schule von Menschen jedes Alters besucht wird. In meiner Klasse waren wir eine tolle Mischung von 18- bis 70- jährigen aus aller Welt. Für mich persönlich macht genau diese Mischung viel aus: engagierte Mitschüler und gute Lehrer. Das war die erste Sprachschule die ich jemals besucht habe - ich bin 58 Jahre alt - und ich werde es definitiv nächstes Jahr wiederholen! Darauf freue ich mich schon!!!

Expérience fantastique: I really enjoy coming to class every Tuesday and Thursday with Rania to discuss events of the day and learn something new. It's fun to take class with other students from all parts of the world too. I get to learn something new about their culture too. Taking classes and signing up is easy.

Expérience fantastique: At the end of May, I took the Super Intensive course for four weeks, and then continued with both private and group classes until April. I had the pleasure of being taught by Maryse and Laetitia - in my opinion, undoubtedly the best teachers you could wish for. They complemented each other very well: both challenged me and were strict, yet always supportive and encouraging. Maryse’s teaching style focused mostly on conversation and expressing yourself properly - I loved her sense of humour, creativity, and unique perspective. Laetitia’s approach, on the other hand, was more focused on grammar, structure, and the DELF methodology. The variety of teaching styles and the overall experience helped me make a lot of progress.

There were 8 students in the class, from all over the world and all ages, and the teacher was both rigorous and gentle, and we were given a variety of different methods for learning. I found it exhausting at times, but in an exhilarating way. It was exactly what I was looking for. Over the past year I have been working on my French every day, and have been able to commit to my practice as a result of the class last summer with Lutece-Langue. I am excited to return again this May.
